Family Scavenger Hunts with BOB Gear®

Outdoor adventures with your family come with countless benefits. Spending time in the fresh air and sunshine can be great for your mental and physical health, and it gives your little ones the opportunity to play and burn off some energy. However, it can be challenging to keep kids entertained and engaged during your outings. By turning an everyday walk around the neighborhood into a fun challenge or game — like a family scavenger hunt — you can enjoy all the benefits of the great outdoors while giving your little adventurers something exciting to do along the way.

BOB Gear is committed to making it easy for families to live bold and active lifestyles while enjoying as much outdoor time as possible. To help make your next outdoor excursion more engaging for your little one(s), we’ve put together two scavenger hunt checklists for rural and urban settings. So, gear up with your jogging stroller or wagon and get ready to enjoy some quality outdoor time with your little ones in tow.

Park or Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt:

Use the interactive checklist below to keep track of which items you and your little ones find.

0 / 18 items found

Make It Your Own: For shorter outings, cut the list down to just 5-10 items. You can also add specific wildlife and plants that are native to your area.

Make It Educational: Family scavenger hunts are a great opportunity to teach your little ones about the importance of preserving nature. For example, you can remind your kids that nature is home to all the animals and critters we see outside, and we need to respect their home and help them keep it safe and clean.

Make It Special: Snap photos along the way to preserve the memories of your fun family adventure. Share them with us on Instagram using the hashtag #BOBGearAdventures.

City Scavenger Hunt:

Use the interactive checklist below to keep track of which items you and your little ones find.

0 / 20 items found

Make It Your Own: Include monuments, landmarks, or businesses that are important to your city.

Make It Educational: As you and your little one look for items like the pedestrian crossing and stop sign, talk to your kids about how to be safe when you’re out and about in the city. Go over important safety rules, like only crossing the street in designated crosswalks.

Make It Special: For a special treat at the end of your scavenger hunt, you can add a bonus item like an ice cream stand or a snack shop and finish your outing by grabbing a bite to eat.

We’d love to see what you find on your family scavenger hunt! Share your adventures with us on Instagram by tagging @bobgearus.
