Fall is here, which means the weather is nice, the leaves are changing, and there are plenty of fun activities for the whole family! Take advantage of those crisp, cool days by spending time outside staying active with your little ones.
From family festivals and nature hikes to bike rides and farmer’s markets, our checklist will help you meet your quota for family fun—while keeping you fit!
Taking a Nature Hike
There’s nothing quite like spending the day in the great outdoors this time of year. Pack some waters and snacks and gather up the family for a nature hike this fall. Be sure to bring your BOB jogging stroller so your little adventurer can rest along the way. Need help getting started? Find great tips and local groups hiking with their little ones at Hike It Baby!
Jumping in Piles of Leaves
Fall is the perfect time of year to get out of the house and spend the day in the yard. Help your kids gather up all the fall foliage and dive right in. It may seem like a simple activity, but trust us—your little ones will have a ball, and get exercise at the same time.
Going on a Bike Ride
Pack up all your favorite snacks and go on a bike ride. Wherever you end up, lay out the blanket and have a family-sized feast. All it takes is a large backpack, a few PB&J sandwiches and your loved ones to turn a regular day into an action-packed adventure.
Playing Flag Football
The weather is perfect for a friendly game of flag football. Invite other families in the neighborhood and make an event out of it. This is a fun way to stay active and get out of the house!
Attending a Family Festival
Family-friendly festivals are becoming more and more popular, and fall is a great time of year to explore this growing trend. Look for a festival that aligns with your interests and is suitable for the kids—then make a day of it!
Going to the Farmer’s Market
Enjoy the crisp air while browsing fruits, veggies and other fresh treats at the Farmer’s Market. Your kids will love the colorful sights and surroundings as you stroll through the stands.
