Warm weather is here. Open the windows. Breathe in that fresh air. Then get ready to head outside! Once you’ve gotten the right tools (BOB Gear Stroller and accessories) it’s time to head out for an adventure. Whether you’re planning to stroll through the neighborhood or head out on the trails, there is a BOB stroller perfect for your active family. If a run is your thing, the key to a successful outing could be all in the technique and the gear. Check out the below five simple tips and tricks before for you and your little running buddy head out.
Technique is Everything
Good technique is the key to making it further. Try alternating arms while holding on to the stroller. This gives you a little more momentum to steer. Check out a how-to here.
Gear Up
Once your little one is old enough to sit front facing in the stroller, be sure to invest in two key accessories: the snack tray and weather shield. The snack tray helps your rider enjoy the trip. By having a place to hold goldfish, and a cup, your kids will have options. The weather shield is a great tool that will help you run long into the fall. The kids will love the feeling of a little cocoon that the shield gives them. Depending on the time of year, don’t forget a blanket for extra comfort.
Stay Alert
Music can be a great motivational tool when you’re running alone but when you’re with your running buddy, leave the earbuds at home. If you want music, invest in a small speaker that can sit in your handlebar console. Create a playlist that you and your kids will love to keep them engaged and excited! Looking for some inspiration? Check out these kid-friendly and motivating songs!
Stay Safe
Your job as a mom and dad doesn’t stop when you start running. Be sure to stay alert to your surroundings and maybe bring along some gear to keep you safe (cell phone and mace). Stay on well-lit, populated trails and consider getting out before the sun goes down. Make sure someone knows where you’re headed. A little common sense can go a long way to giving you peace of mind.
Have Fun!
Let your kids in on the fun. Take some time to let them do some running too. You will keep them excited about the ride and show them how fun it can be to live a healthy active life! You can try these games to keep the ride fun for little ones.
A BOB Gear stroller is a great tool for sharing some special time with your kids. Enjoying something together is a great way to bond and create common interests and with a little bit of planning, your run will not only be fun but will have your passengers begging to go again. So what are you waiting for? Grab your BOB Gear, load up the stroller and let’s roll!
